Holy Cross Health and Wellness Center and Clinic
A place to turn for care, comfort and support
Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and to have somewhere to turn when life gets difficult. The Saint Agnes Holy Cross Health and Wellness Center and Clinic (or, Holy Cross) has a rich history of more than 40 years of public service, originally named "The Saint Agnes Holy Cross Center for Women," established by the Sisters of the Holy Cross and operating a day respite and learning center for homeless and low-income women and their children.
Holy Cross helps bring Saint Agnes' healing mission to life by helping individuals and families find care, meet everyday needs and take steps toward greater stability. Through services and partnerships with Poverello House and WestCare California, Holy Cross connects our neighbors with housing support, behavioral health services, essential supplies and opportunities to learn and grow.
That commitment will continue to grow with the Holy Cross Clinic, anticipated to open in January 2027.
Support for everyday needs and lasting change
Taking care of your health can be difficult when you are worried about finding a safe place to stay, clean clothing or support for your family. Holy Cross helps address these needs together, offering practical assistance alongside services that support health and well-being.
Available services include:
- Housing support: rapid rehousing services and help exploring alternatives to homelessness for individuals and families facing a housing crisis
- Guidance and connection: short-term case management to help people identify needs and connect with resources
- Learning opportunities: parenting and financial literacy programs
- Behavioral health: outpatient substance use treatment and mental health services through our partnership with WestCare of Central California
- Everyday essentials: clothing, hygiene products, diapers and self-care services
Our work is rooted in a simple commitment: to meet people with compassion and recognize the worth of every person who comes through our doors.
Our impact in fiscal year 2026
Holy Cross had a greater impact in fiscal year 2026 (FY26), documenting 19,116 encounters (compared to only 9,000 in FY25) in which it provided 90,349 essential items, including clothing, hygiene products, diapers, and self-care services. Our ongoing partnership with WestCare of Central California allowed us to continue offering behavioral health, substance use, and mental health services. This collaboration helped improve access to critical services and reduce barriers for individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and behavioral health issues, ultimately making a meaningful difference in our community.
In FY26, Saint Agnes Health invested $221,497.96 in net community benefit to support the Holy Cross Health and Wellness Center and Clinic.
Care closer to those who need it
Anticipated to open in January 2027, the Holy Cross Clinic builds on our commitment to helping people find the care and support they need, no matter where they are in life.
