TogetherStrong for the Common Good

At Saint Agnes, we believe in the power of community and compassion. As part of Trinity Health, we are committed to advancing the Common Good by creating a culture where every person is valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

This means standing for human dignity, promoting health equity and social justice, honoring the sacredness of life, and caring deeply for those most in need.

Advocating for the Common Good

As a not-for-profit, faith-based health care ministry, we are called to serve with compassion, integrity and justice. This calling goes beyond the bedside; it means using our voice to shape policies and systems that promote health equity, protect the dignity of every person, and ensure care remains accessible especially for the most vulnerable. Together with Trinity Health, we focus on three key areas where we can make the greatest impact. Click through the boxes below to learn more.

We believe health care should prioritize people over profit. To continue serving our community within those margins, we know we must build a sustainable system that reflects the true cost of delivering care. We support efforts to:

  • End insurer practices that put patients at risk
  • Strengthen and stabilize Medicaid reimbursement
  • Defend the 340B drug discount program
  • Expand access to innovative care models like PACE
  • Prevent cuts to vital outpatient, home health and safety-net services

Much of a person's health is shaped by factors outside of a hospital, including: food, housing and safety. That's why we're committed to bridging the gap between clinical care and social needs to help individuals and families live healthier lives. Our work includes:

  • Expanding access to affordable, nutritious food options
  • Maintaining access to Medicaid for eligible patients
  • Increasing access to safe, stable and affordable housing
  • Building infrastructure to address disasters and public health crises
  • Piloting a redesign of rural obstetric care
  • Reducing violence in our community

Our colleagues are the hands and hearts of our ministry. To provide exceptional care, now and in the future, we know we must invest in their growth, safety and innovation. Together, we are advocating to:

  • Recognize health systems as workforce developers
  • Advance virtual nursing and telehealth efficiencies
  • Modernize health profession education
  • Address and prevent workplace violence in health care
