Dr. Cheng-an Tony Chien joined the Saint Agnes Medical Center: Sports Medicine Fellowship Program in July 2025 after completing a Family Medicine Residency at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, CA. Tony Was born in San Jose, CA and was raised in Saratoga, CA, where he grew up playing a variety of sports, such as tennis and basketball, in addition to exploring the Santa Cruz Mountains.

He holds a medical degree from Kaohsiung Medical University and a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCLA. He has dedicated his time during his residency training to serving and educating the Central Valley and hopes to continue his efforts during his fellowship to help his patients lead healthy lives with the utmost quality that they deserve.

Throughout his training, he provided team coverage for local high schools such as Roosevelt High School and Justin Garza High school and provided free physical exams to their athletes. He has even worked with the local China Peak Ski Patrol to establish a partnership with Saint Agnes Medical Center. When not on the sidelines or in clinic, his other interests include camping, hiking, cooking, photography, and model building.
