Nurse Residency Program

Nurse Residency

Start your nursing career with confidence

The Saint Agnes Nurse Residency Program is designed to support newly licensed registered nurses as they transition from advanced beginner to confident, competent professional nurses—all while working full time in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

As part of the Vizient/American Association of College of Nursing (AACN) Nurse Residency Program, our evidence-based curriculum combines clinical experience with professional development, leadership training and mentorship. Nurse residents also complete an evidence-based practice project focused on improving patient outcomes and advancing quality care.

This year-long program includes a weeklong skills review, hands-on clinical experience and monthly in-person learning sessions that foster leadership, professional growth and lifelong learning.

The goals of the Nurse Residency Program include:

  • Develop critical thinking and clinical judgment
  • Improve self-confidence in patient management decision-making
  • Develop knowledge and skills in safety and quality patient centered care
  • Integrate the nurse resident into a professional career as a life-long learner
Whether you're beginning your first nursing role or preparing for the next step after graduation, our Nurse Residency Program provides the guidance, support and real-world experience to help you grow with confidence while making a meaningful difference for every patient you serve.
