James Michael Bruce, MD

Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colorectal Surgery, Dr. James Bruce joined Valley Surgical Specialists as a colon and rectal surgeon in 1985. He worked at this group for 18 years before joining Saint Agnes Medical Providers in June 2013. He is member of the American College of Surgeons, Fresno Madera Medical Society, and California Medical Association.

Dr. Bruce received his medical degree from University of Texas at Houston. He completed his general surgery residency at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas and continued onto his colorectal surgery fellowship at Ferguson Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Dr. Bruce is also an active colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve; he completed two tours in Afghanistan in 2010 and 2012.
