Saint Agnes Care introduces rheumatology services

Fresno, CA—Saint Agnes Care – a nonprofit subsidiary of Saint Agnes Medical Center – is proud to introduce outpatient rheumatology services at Saint Agnes Care Rheumatology in North Fresno.

The new clinic provides a personal approach for treating complex conditions of the joints, muscles, bones and immune system such as autoimmune disorders, arthritis, osteoporosis and other inflammatory conditions.

Someone may benefit from rheumatology if they experience pain, stiffness, inflammation or other symptoms that aren’t resolving on their own. Rheumatological conditions can change over time, so it’s important to get the right care early to prevent symptoms from worsening.

“Opening Saint Agnes Care Rheumatology is part of our ongoing commitment to expand access to specialty care for Valley patients right here at home,” says Sonya Pizzo, Vice President, Saint Agnes Medical Foundation. “By keeping these critical services local, patients can get the treatment they need without delays to ensure the highest quality of life.”

Saint Agnes also welcomed back Rheumatologist, Dr. Shelley Kaur Dhillon, to oversee the clinic. Dr. Dhillon previously completed her Internal Medicine Residency with Saint Agnes Graduate Medical Education. After receiving her fellowship at University of California, Irvine, she returned to the Central Valley to practice rheumatology.

“As a physician, I want my patients to feel truly heard and validated – whether that means confirming a diagnosis or simply acknowledging their symptoms are real and deserve attention,” Dr. Dhillon says. “I strive to evaluate and counsel each individual not just as a patient with a medical condition, but as a whole person with unique experiences and concerns.”
