Does your child need a sports physical?
August 25, 2021
Before your kids put on a jersey, here’s why they need to be seen by a doctor.
If you have one or more kids who plan on playing sports this fall, either through school or a community league, now is the time to schedule a sports physical if you haven’t done so already. Also referred to as a pre-participation exam (PPE), a sports physical is similar to an annual physical exam, with just a few minor differences.
Most teams require paperwork from a health care provider showing that your child is physically cleared to play his or her chosen sport. But even if yours doesn’t, it’s a good idea to have kids checked by a doctor to make sure they are healthy enough to participate safely. This can prevent unforeseen health issues and provide you with peace of mind.
Don't let your children miss out on the action! Our physicians are passionate about helping you and your loved ones stay healthy. Schedule a sports physical with Saint Agnes Care Sports Medicine physician Richard Oravec, MD, for just $25! Simply call (559) 450-2663 to get started today!
