Hope and healing after stroke

Stroke is the fifth-leading cause of death in the U.S. and the leading cause of long-term disability. But thanks to advances in technology, treatmetn and prevention, there's more hope than ever for patients who experience a stroke or who are at risk.

At Saint Agnes, our Stroke Program delivers evidence-based care from the very first moment of contact. Our goal is simple: to provide fast, effective treatment, while also helping you reduce your risk for future strokes.

Stroke care you can trust

As an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, certified by The Joint Commission, Saint Agnes is among more than 900 centers nationwide recognized for excellence in stroke care.

Our team not only treats strokes quickly and effectively—we also focus on stroke prevention. Through the right medication, education, and lifestyle support, we help you take steps to lower your risk of another stroke.

Fast access to specialists

When it comes to stroke, time is brain and every second counts. That's why Saint Agnes offers TeleNeurology services, bringing stroke specialists to the bedside through secure, high-speed video technology.

With TeleStroke, our emergency nurses and care teams can connect immediately with a neurologist, day or night. In real time, the teleneurologist can:

  • Help visually assess the patient's symptoms
  • Speak directly with patients, nurses and doctors, as appropriate
  • Review imaging and test results remotely, as needed
  • Recommend treatment, often within minutes.

By combining advanced technology with compassionate care, Saint Agnes is making it possible for patients to receive the most effect treatment as quickly as possible.
