A healing mission that continues today
Founded in 1929 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Saint Agnes began as a 75-bed hospital created to bring compassionate, faith-based care to a growing Valley community. For 96 years, we’ve helped shape healthcare in the Central Valley by expanding access to care, introducing advanced technologies and growing alongside the communities we serve.
While much has changed over the decades, our mission remains the same: caring for the whole person—body, mind and spirit.
The lives at the 'heart' of our story
For Charles ("Charlie"), an unexpected heart procedure became a life-changing moment—one that gave him more time with the people he loves most, including his wife, JoAnn.
While recovering from open heart surgery at Saint Agnes, Charlie and JoAnn were surrounded by compassion in an unforgettable way when colleagues came together to turn what was meant to be their wedding weekend into a celebration of healing and love inside our hospital chapel.
