Saint Agnes Medical Center's Cancer services continue to follow a tradition of excellence. No matter the type of cancer or stage of treatment, patients can expect the same personalized care from each aspect of the treatment process; whether it's diagnostic testing, genetic counseling, lymphedema management, education about the latest treatment techniques, support services and rehabilitation, support groups and even home care or hospice when necessary.

It's comforting to know that the same advances in cancer care management, including the latest technology and treatment protocols used in larger metropolitan areas, are also available right here in the Central Valley.

Top quality standards

The cancer program at Saint Agnes has been an approved comprehensive community program for more than 30 years. The program continued that success by earning another three-year accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, an approval only given to facilities that provide the highest caliber diagnoses and treatments.

Full spectrum of care and support services includes:

  • An inpatient Oncology/Medical Unit staffed by more than 50 chemotherapy-certified nurses who specialize in treating cancer, diabetes, and sickle cell disease patients.
  • The latest in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine technology necessary for screening and early detection.
  • Tumor Boards, Breast Conferences, and Lung Nodule Conferences that allow physicians and medical staff to review patient cases and reach consensus on treatment recommendations.
  • Lymphedema Management with a Vodder trained Physical Therapist, Nationally certified in the treatment of lymphedema by the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) and a member of The National Lymphedema Network.
  • On-site Breast, Lung and Thyroid Nurse Navigators, providing key support services and serving as a personal advocate for each patient, diagnosis through treatment and recovery.
  • Social Services and nutritional counseling to better assist with the needs of our patients transitioning to an outpatient setting.
