Saint Agnes is proud to be part of a communitywide initiative to help bridge the medical gaps for homeless individuals. In July 2011, Fresno Medical Respite Center opened- a first-of-its kind collaborative that offers eight beds for homeless men and two beds for women at the Fresno Rescue Mission in downtown Fresno. Clients are evaluated before admission, receive follow-up care, and have access to ongoing medical support through Clinica Sierra Vista, should other medical needs arise. Social workers also help identify permanent housing options for patients. Saint Agnes is among several hospitals and local organizations that have been supporting the respite center since its inception.
