If you are without insurance coverage, our team will confidentially work with you to determine if you may be eligible for a government-funded program or our own Financial Support Program.
It's important that you share your situation with us as soon as possible, as many of these programs have very strict guidelines and time limits.
What if I don't have health insurance or have only limited insurance?
If you do not have health insurance coverage or resources to pay your bill in full, please contact our Customer Service Department, 1-855-224-5998. Our Service Representatives are available to answer any questions you may have about hospital services and to assist you in a respectful and efficient manner by:
- Establishing a low interest loan.
- Helping you qualify for one of several public assistance programs.
- Determining if you qualify for a full or partial discount on your hospital bill (based on our Financial Support policy).
Who is eligible for Financial Support?
All patients, regardless of race, creed, gender, age, or national origin, may apply for financial support from Saint Agnes Medical Center in advance of or after receiving covered services. Eligibility is determined on an individual basis, taking into account factors such as household size, income, assets and insurance status. If you appear to be eligible for public assistance, our staff can assist you in completing the public assistance application process to be considered for Financial Support.
What services qualify for Financial Support?
Financial Support applies to all medically necessary patient services that are provided at our hospital including inpatient, outpatient and emergency services.
What services don't qualify for Financial Support?
Financial Support is not available for:
- Services considered not medically necessary, including cosmetic surgery.
- Services to patients who qualify for MISP, Medi-Cal or any state, federal or other assistance programs.
- Services that a patient chooses to receive outside of their insurance network.
- Services rendered by physicians and other healthcare providers.
How will I know if I qualify for Financial Support?
To determine your eligibility for our Financial Support, you will be asked to complete a Financial Support Application and to provide supporting information to verify your household income and net assets. You will receive written or telephone contact from a Saint Agnes representative, notifying you of the results of your application.

What are the patient obligations when receiving Financial Support?
If you are applying for our Financial Support Program, you will be expected to cooperate in providing the requested financial and/or other information used to determine your eligibility in a timely manner. If you qualify for partial support, you will be expected to pay the remaining balance for the services you received. Our Financial Advocates can assist you in establishing a low interest loan.
