When it comes to patient meals at Saint Agnes, paper menus are out and mobile options are now in.
Starting July 30, our Nutrition Services Patient Service Associates (PSA) are armed with iPads and a new web-based meal ordering application for taking patient meal requests. The new system has built-in safeguards that automatically block food options that do not match the patient’s diet and allergy restrictions. PSAs can also input notes and other important information for each patient.
“This change not only streamlines our processes,” Ann Snow, RD, Nutrition Services says. “It also gives our PSAs a lot more information at their fingertips.”
For a department that prepares more than 700 patient meals each day with more than 20 meal options to choose from, this is a big win.
And for patients, it’s expected to be a big satisfier.
