Nearly 900 runners, walkers and wheelchair competitors participated in the 27th running of the Fresno Cross City Race, Sunday, September 20, at Chukchansi Park in downtown Fresno. Sponsored by Saint Agnes Men’s Club, this popular community event also brought out an enthusiastic crowd of spectators to cheer on their favorite athletes. Events included a 2-mile run, walk and wheelchair race; a 10K run, walk, and wheelchair race; and kids races for childred ages 3 to 12 in 1/4-mile, 1/2-mile and 1-mile distances. Family-friendly activities ran from 9 a.m.-noon and included food and drinks, face painting, local mascots, music, bounce houses and more.
