 | | Exercise is an important part of the Adult Day program. |
The Saint Agnes Adult Day Health Center is designed to help adults who are frail, or who suffer from chronic health problems, to continue living at home. Opened in May 1983, the Adult Day program has helped hundreds of clients to maintain their independence by providing medically supervised day-care assistance. The Adult Day program offers an alternative to assisted living and also provides respite for caretakers who are afraid to leave their family members alone all day. The program works to treat the "whole person," offering a wide range of social, recreational, and healthcare programs to help clients stay active and involved. An individualized care plan is developed for each participant, and supervised by his or her physician. The program helps maintain, and often improve, the client’s ability to function independently. The wide range of services provided includes nursing care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, exercise programs, planned social activities, nutritional meals and spiritual care.
