CARDIOLOGY

The members of the Division of Cardiology demonstrate an ongoing commitment to provide the most current medical therapies and cutting edge technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease. Our cardiologists are involved with 5,000 patient admissions each year and perform over 6,000 interventional cardiac procedures each year.

Interventional cardiology services are provided in three interventional cardiac suites with digital imaging and storage capabilities including:

balloon angioplasty
coronary stent placements
cutting balloon angioplasty
cardiac brachytherapy
rotational athertectomy
directional atherectomy
intracoronary thrombolysis and thrombectomy
pericardiocentesis

Diagnostic cardiology services include:

diagnostic left and right heart catheterizations
ultrasound
transtracheal ECHO
transesophageal ECHO (TEE)
intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)
loop recorder implants
cardiac biopsies

Electrophysiology services include:

diagnostic electrophysiology
catheter based treatments of arrhythmia (RE Ablation)
tachycardia and brachycardia pacing therapies

Support services:

Three Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Suites with digital image
and storage capabilities including:

3-D CARTO electrophysiology navigation and mapping system
multidisciplinary non-invasive vascular laboratory
8-bed dedicated coronary intensive care unit
63-bed telemetry nursing unit
8-bed dedicated cardiac surgery unit
clinical research center (Phase II, III and IV drug and device trials)
