Saint Agnes Medical Center's President and CEO Nancy Hollingsworth discusses the new expansion
This year, Saint Agnes Medical Center will begin a new chapter in its 82-year healing ministry with the completion of a brand new patient care floor on the sixth story of the hospital's North Wing. Home to 28 more private patient rooms and an 8-bed critical care unit, the $16.8 million 6-North project will give post-surgical patients a private room to ensure the speediest possible recovery, while also providing needed critical care beds for our most fragile patients.
"What's most exciting about the opening of 6-North is the domino effect it has on other patient care areas," Nancy Hollingsworth, RN, President and CEO says. "The additional space is allowing us to expand other key patient care areas to better meet the needs of our Valley's growing population."
One of the first priorities is converting some of the newly vacated space adjacent to the Emergency Department (ED) into a Senior ED, dedicated to meeting the unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients age 65 and up, their caregivers and family.
Watch for more details about the Senior ED in the coming months.
